December 15, 2023 | By Bob Rowlings

Please join us for CSC Atlantic Chapter's January Breakfast Meeting. We will be welcoming Andrew Smith M.A.Sc, PEng, Masonry Design Engineer. Andrew is with the Canadian Masonry Design Centre (CMDC) and he will be taking this opportunity to showcase the new CMDC website and all of the resources they are providing for specifiers and designers. Andrew will speak on contract documents and the typical errors we see, showcase the new partition wall design tool, and how the CMDC can assist you with loadbearing masonry applications.

Andrew Smith provides complimentary technical expertise and advice throughout Atlantic Canada to designers and his contractor members. Andrew is a committee member for CSA masonry standards, as well as CSA Z797 and CSA B354 for access scaffolding and mast-climbers respectively. Andrew has authored a multi-residential cost comparison study and has created a high school masonry program which has generously donated the tools and materials to over 32 high schools throughout Atlantic Canada and now introduces masonry to over 1000 students each semester.
